The ‘Make Easy Money Online Search’ syndrome.

I recently received an email from one of my new subscribers which said ‘Please tell me how to make money’.

Straight to the point. I was a bit taken aback. After all he had subscribed to my newsletter which was full of good ideas. If he had been to the website there were some more good ideas.

But no, before he had done any of that he had whipped off an email and got straight into it.

Next, I got a bit angry and thought that he must have been one real lazy guy. Why shouldn’t he just get stuck in and do the hard graft like the rest of us.

However, I got to thinking that maybe he was just like the rest of us. When we started out we all wanted to know that exact same thing. In his case he was very upfront and honest about it.

So my next problem was, how could I give him enough information in an email to provide him with a solution. I began by searching for related keywords and found that he wasn’t the only person looking for simple answers.

For example the phrase ‘make easy money online search’ was used by a small but significant number of people each day. In fact there were 26 daily searches using this exact phrase. That amounts to around 800 a month or 9,600 a year.

I decided to call this the ‘make easy money online search’ syndrome and this article is my attempt to provide a simple answer to that question.

There are many different ways to make money online so I decided to restrict myself to affiliate marketing. I know, it’s not that simple but I thought that would be a good start.

Trying to keep this, or any, subject as simple as my email friend wanted was no easy task. But on the presumption that it was a genuine cry for help, I was determined to try.

I have always believed that if you are selling anything, it’s a solution. Not a product, not a widget, but a solution. A solution to whatever problems people may have.

The next step is to find a really good information product that he could have confidence in. A product that would really deliver and with a price that gave value for money. Here my friend would have to rely on me.

There are thousands of products on offer and I would have to be careful that I got my recommendation right. I decided that it would have to be an information product that came with a solid money back guarantee.

That still left me with several really good products. However, at this stage I was keeping it simple so settling on a product could be left until later.

The third and final step in this simplistic approach to affiliate marketing was causing a problem. Trying to keep the subject of finding traffic simple was not easy. This is a vast subject. There are so many ways of finding traffic. Some had a cost, some were free.

After a great deal of thought I decided that my new friend needed to know (if he hadn’t worked it out already) that making money online required effort. Even if he was to use the ‘free’ methods of generating traffic this would cost him effort. To go into detail about Adwords and other Pay Per Click methods, article marketing, blogging, video and audio, would surely overwhelm him. Well it overwhelmed me when I first started out.

So, I left it there and invited him to get back to me if he wished to take it further. I hope that he didn’t feel short changed. And as I await his reply I’m working on how I am going to take this to the next stage.

 The question off course on everybody's lips is: "Can a person make easy money?"  Maybe to start off with we need to answer the following question: "What is easy money?"  Is it money that just rolls in without lifting your finger?  Is it money that one gets for little effort?  In the context of this article I'm not asking these questions purely based on the internet industry but based on life as we live it.  I think most people will agree with me that Easy Money was earned the easy way in other words for little or no effort.  But then surely we shouldn't refer to the term "earn" then?  (EARN – get something by working or in return for what you have done) 

 I think most people will not use these three words in the same sentence: work, earn and easy.  For most of us the first two go together because the way we were taught by the experts was to study so you can work in order to earn.  Nowhere does the term "easy" feature. 

 Looking back at the title of this article nowhere does the word "earn" feature so let's get back to the topic in hand.  (MAKE – bring something into existence, especially by putting things together)  Read the above definition again, interesting isn't it?  So to put the definition in other words if we take things put them together and bring something into existence then we've made something.  Hell but that sounds simple and easy enough.  There are two problems that I can see though and those are the words something and things in the definition.  Unfortunately the definition doesn't tell us what those things are that we must put together to bring that something into existence.

 In order to make easy money we have to put things together in order to bring something into existence but at the same time we shouldn't work too hard because then we earn money which isn't easy anymore.  I am going to leave you with that last thought in mind as I am sure you are as confused as I am right now.  To make easy money therefore in my opinion isn't as straight forward as it seems.
